Reverse Osmosis has released a new album, Unable Unstable, on May 22. The ten-track project is built around long-form techno, with tracks that use their extended length to explore details in sound design and arrangement.
The album distinguishes itself by maintaining continuity across its tracks. The drums, synth hits, low-end pressure, and darker textures create a cohesive listening experience, allowing listeners to move from one track to another without the feeling of constant resets.
The sound design is a highlight of Unable Unstable. „Titus“ exemplifies this with its psychedelic, space-age feel, featuring synth one-shots that cut through the mix. The track avoids relying on obvious hooks, instead using subtle changes in placement and a steady sense of motion to maintain listener engagement.
“Slip On It” offers a harder edge, providing a shift in force within the album. Its direct, physical feel and darker push differentiate it from the more psychedelic sections, while still remaining consistent with the overall sound of the project.
