Denver-based DJ and producer Racket Club — the project of Jon Gilman — has delivered his first entry into Data Transmission’s Spotlight Mix series, offering up a house-driven session built squarely for late-night dancefloors.
Gilman brings fifteen years of experience to the decks, a back catalogue that has earned BBC Radio 1 support, and a live résumé that includes festival appearances at Splash House and Groove Cruise alongside club dates across the globe. Beyond performing and producing, he operates an artist development and marketing agency focused on helping musicians at mid-career build visibility and sustainable income.
The mix moves through house, edits, techy rollers and big-room cuts across a 28-track run. It opens with a collaborative edit of Mos Def’s „Ms. Fat Booty“ made with Dan Whitfield, and draws on material from RUZE, Goosey, CASSIMM, Camel Phat, Tita Lau, Kyle Watson, Walker & Royce and Italobros, among others. A rework of Fedde Le Grand and Mr. V’s „Back & Forth“ by Tony Romera, a Jay Bird edit of Pink Floyd’s „The Great Gig in the Sky,“ and a Danny Howard collaboration with RUZE all feature in the selection. Racket Club closes out the mix with his own production „Nowadays,“ again made alongside Dan Whitfield.
Other notable inclusions span Camel Phat’s „Jockin,“ Carlita and Paige Cavell’s „Patchwork,“ Green Velvet alongside Genesi, Meduza and Essentia on „La nd,“ and Kyle Watson and Walker & Royce’s „Double Dutch,“ giving the session a wide sweep of contemporary house sounds without losing momentum across its runtime.
The full mix is streaming now via Data Transmission’s SoundCloud.
