Akumandra, the record label and party series founded by Sainte Vie, has announced its inaugural festival in New York City. The Akumandra Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Knockdown Center in Brooklyn.
Founded in Mexico City in 2013, Akumandra hosted its first New York event in 2015. Over the past eleven years, it has become an underground institution, hosting bi-annual showcases at Knockdown Center and events in cities including Istanbul, Berlin, Mexico City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami. Akumandra has hosted artists such as Acid Pauli, Jan Blomqvist, Âme, Booka Shade, and Adana Twins.
The festival will feature a 14-hour program across two spaces at Knockdown Center, with custom lighting design. The daytime program, from 3 PM to 10 PM, will take place in Knockdown Center’s outdoor courtyard, The Ruins. Mateo and Eli will open with a back-to-back set, followed by a live set from Rezident. Sainte Vie will perform a sunset live set featuring remixes from his debut album, Pablo. Betical will make their NYC debut to close out The Ruins.
The festival will then move indoors to the Main Hall from 10 PM to 5 AM. Mateo and Eli will open the night, followed by Ivory. Brina Knauss will perform, leading into a set by Mano Le Tough. Sainte Vie will close the festival with a DJ set.
