Premiere: TERR and Daniel Watts turn the daily grind into ‘Everyday OK’ on Twist + Turn

TERR and Daniel Watts have released ‘Everyday OK’, the fourth record on their own imprint Twist + Turn. The track marks another chapter in a collaboration that dates back more than two decades, rooted in a shared history that began when the pair met as members of the electronic collective Digitaria in the 2000s.

‘Everyday OK’ draws on the foundations of classic ’90s house and tech house, pairing gritty electronic textures with a rolling, hypnotic groove and spoken vocals. The lyrical content reflects on the mechanisation of modern life and the daily routines that quietly define contemporary existence — diary-like observations set against a production built for both peak-time floors and solitary listening.

TERR is the project of Daniela Caldellas, a Brazilian DJ and producer originally from Belo Horizonte who has since lived in Barcelona, Berlin and Marseille. Her background spans punk bands and guitar playing before a shift toward analog synthesis and studio work. Her catalogue includes releases on Hotflush, Permanent Vacation, Correspondant and Phantasy, the latter of which put out her debut album ‘Consciousness As A State Of Matter’. Daniel Watts has been her creative partner throughout much of that journey, and the two previously co-founded the label Clash Lion before launching Twist + Turn.

Twist + Turn launched with ‘Drama’ and has since positioned itself as a home for music that functions equally well in club environments and at home. The imprint’s focus, as the duo describe it, is on twisted sounds and frequencies — records that prompt a reaction on the dancefloor.

‘Everyday OK’ is premiering exclusively on When We Dip and is available to stream now.
