Through Gods Own Eyes has built its catalogue since 2019 around a single guiding principle: club potential above all else. The label has moved through nu-disco, deep house and psychedelic chuggers without anchoring itself to any one sound, and its latest release marks another shift in direction — this time into soaring, melody-rich progressive house, with Nick Warren leading the charge.
Warren is one of the genre’s founding figures. One half of Way Out West, co-founder of Hope Recordings and a long-standing presence on Bedrock, Global Underground and his own The Soundgarden imprint, the Bristol-born producer has been central to progressive house since the 1990s. ‘Waves’, his debut on Through Gods Own Eyes, captures an Ibiza-at-dusk mood: sparkling melodic motifs, sustained chords, synth-flutes, dreamy pads and a shuffling electro-influenced breakbeat underpinned by deep, smooth bass. Emotion-rich and summer-warm, it is a track built on tuneful positivity.
The premiere today belongs to Paul James Nolan, whose remix anchors the EP’s lead position. A producer, engineer and mentor based in Buenos Aires, Nolan’s credits include studio work alongside Sasha and Junkie XL, and his MYT platform has shaped a generation of emerging talent. His rework strips out the original’s breakbeat in favour of driving 4/4 beats, throbbing bass and a constantly building arrangement, pushing ‘Waves’ into trance-inducing future progressive house territory. The remix has already proven itself on the floor — Warren played it at the Balance Croatia festival in Tisno, where it drew a rapturous response.
The wider release carries two further reworks. Richard Norris of The Grid delivers a deeper, more hypnotic interpretation that preserves the original’s dancefloor focus and picturesque atmosphere, threading fluttering flutes, pulsing synths and rumbling bass through a more inward-looking arrangement. Closing the EP is Simon Sheldon, a Belfast-based Scouser and one third of Nu Northern Soul-signed group Visions of Light. His rework reaches back to the late 1990s for inspiration, building on subtle acid lines, sweeping chords and elastic bass for a classic-sounding finish.
The full premiere of ‘Waves (Paul James Nolan Remix)’ is streaming now exclusively on When We Dip. The EP lands on Through Gods Own Eyes on 25 September 2026.
