JetPack has released the Glide XL System, a modular roller bag setup retailing at $465 and aimed squarely at DJs transporting professional-grade all-in-one controllers and consoles. The system is built around today’s flagship hardware, with confirmed compatibility including the Pioneer DJ Opus Quad, Alpha Theta XDJ-AZ, Pioneer XDJ-XZ, Denon Prime 4+, Roland DJ-808, and various CDJ and mixer configurations.
The Glide XL itself features a reinforced shell, thick interior padding with adjustable dividers, durable exterior fabric, oversized zippers, and rollerblade-style wheels. Plastic sliding rails on the base assist with loading the bag into vehicles, while a telescoping handle is designed to handle sidewalks, stairs, and uneven parking lots. Multiple reinforced grab handles are distributed across the bag for easier maneuvering in tight spaces. After a month of real-world use with a Pioneer DJ Opus Quad, the reviewer noted no loose stitching or worn wheel assemblies.
What separates the Glide XL System from a standard roller bag is the inclusion of JetPack’s Snap Backpack. The backpack attaches directly to a dedicated exterior sleeve on the roller bag via a locking loop strap, consolidating both pieces into a single unified carry. The backpack includes a dedicated laptop compartment alongside storage for headphones, USB drives, cables, and power supplies. Its slim profile fits under an airline seat, and it detaches cleanly once at a venue, allowing the roller bag to be stored out of the way while the backpack stays accessible at the booth.
The reviewer, who uses the Opus Quad for pop-up events and club dates where in-house equipment is unavailable, described the system as practical insurance against gear damage during transit — referencing a prior incident where unsecured equipment was damaged during a sudden stop in a vehicle. The Glide XL is positioned as a solution to that exact scenario, providing structured, padded containment rather than relying on improvised transport.
One notable limitation flagged in the review: the Glide XL System is not recommended for checked airline baggage, as the soft-sided construction is considered too vulnerable for that environment without the additional protection of a hard-sided case. For ground transport and carry-on use, however, the system is presented as a complete and well-considered solution for working DJs moving premium hardware between gigs.
