GHENGAR has released his debut album REBIRTH, an eight-track project from producer David Crow that pulls heavy bass music into direct contact with metal, horror, gaming culture, and live vocal performance. The record arrives after a year of high-profile festival appearances that gave Crow room to develop increasingly aggressive material, including sets at Tomorrowland, Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, ILLFest, EDC Las Vegas, and a sold-out headline show at SILO Dallas.
Rather than functioning as a straightforward collection of festival-ready tearout, REBIRTH uses its outside influences as structural elements throughout. “LAVENDER CITY,” a collaboration with Usaybflow, draws directly from Pokémon lore, reshaping the atmosphere of Lavender Town into a combination of riddim, tearout, and game-inspired sound design. “TACTICAL NUKE” approaches Call of Duty Zombies with a similar specificity, building chanting, distorted bass, metal vocals, and franchise samples into a track built for large-scale bass sets.
Horror runs just as deep across the record. “DEAD LINE” with BERNZIKIAL opens with a ringing phone and Ghostface’s signature question before Crow’s own scream-singing pushes the track into punishing dubstep territory. “AUTOPSY BUFFET,” made with Chassi, combines spoken word, guitar, metallic textures, and aggressive electronic production, and stands as one of the earliest recordings to signal the direction REBIRTH would eventually take.
Crow’s vocal presence is among the album’s most defining characteristics. He performs screams and growls throughout while also introducing his singing voice to the project for the first time. “DEMONS” places distorted guitar and live vocals at the center of the production, and the closing title track moves through melodic singing, visceral screams, piano, atmospheric effects, and horror-inflected narration before it ends. “BODIES,” made with K1N, takes a different angle entirely — rather than sampling Drowning Pool’s 2001 track directly, Crow performs the vocals himself and rebuilds the song around bass house, demonstrating that the album’s heavier identity extends across tempos and production styles rather than being confined to a single formula.
Crow has described REBIRTH as GHENGAR in its most complete form, one that combines metal, monsters, gaming, vocals, and electronic production without separating those influences into distinct categories. The album moves into its next phase later in October when the REBIRTH North American Tour begins in Philadelphia. The run extends through March 2027, with support from All The Reason, Calcium, HVDES, Prosecute, yvm3, and Usaybflow across select dates.
